From a one-person operation to one of the Top 15 EMS providers worldwide – an unparalleled success story. More than five decades ago, Manfred Zollner laid the foundation for today's Zollner Elektronik AG in Zandt. Since then, the family business has made a name for itself as an international corporate group.
Founding of an electronics shop by Manfred Zollner with installation operations. He chooses to headquarter his company in his hometown of Zandt.
An “Electrotechnology Factory” is founded. This coincides with the start of the Inductivities business unit.

The next step is to develop the Electronics business unit. Automated coil production capabilities are expanded.
Upon establishment of the Lam branch plant, the Zollner company already boasts 686 employees. The development of in-house materials procurement and logistics also begins around this time.
A branch plant in Untergschwandt is founded.
In Vác, Hungary, another branch plant is erected. Healthy corporate growth is also reflected in employee development.
A further branch plant is added with the new site in Neukirchen. An in-house quality management system is established.

Rebranding into “Zollner Elektronik AG”. The company is fully owned by the Zollner family. The first plant in Romania is founded in Satu Mare.

Branch plant Furth im Wald is founded.
The Szügy site is founded in Hungary and establishes itself with a spectrum of services in the Mechanics technology area.
Zollner accepts its responsibility not only as an employer in the region. Construction of the Training Center follows to promote the production staff of the future.
Zollner invests in an Asian location for the very first time with the founding of Taicang (China). New construction in Zandt and Vác.
Furth im Wald, Untergschwandt and Satu Mare (Romania) are expanded. While Furth and Untergschwandt are dedicated to the Electronics area, Satu Mare is the place for inductive components.
A second branch plant in Romania is added with Satu Mare II (Electronics business area).
With Beja, Tunisia, Zollner arrives on the African continent. Inductive components are produced at this site.
Expansion is on the docket for Zandt and Szügy, Hungary. The eight German plants make Zollner the largest employer in the region.
A US site is founded in Sterling, Virginia. Valuable, mutual synergies are developed from the partnership with EIT.
Zandt Headquarters grows anew. Taicang II represents the 15th plant in the Zollner family. The 7,000 mark is crossed in employee numbers.
Romanian plant Satu Mare II is expanded.
A branch plant is established in Milpitas, California, USA. By the 31st of December, 2011, Zollner Elektronik AG employs 7,959 employees.
New investment is made at the main location. A cleanroom is erected in Zandt.
With the development, design and construction of the world’s largest four-legged walking robot, Zollner Elektronik AG makes it into the Guinness Book of Records.
Hombrechtikon, Switzerland, expands the scope of Zollner Elektronik AG expertise in mechatronics into biochemistry.
The foundations have been poured for our Central American plant in Cartago, Costa Rica.
